Overnight oats are one of our favorite breakfast options because they’re quick, healthy, energizing, and super versatile.
We like to meal-prep on Sundays by filling 4-6 mason jars with the following ingredients, and stocking them in the fridge for a convenient solution for busy weekdays.
1/2 Cup Old Fashioned Oats
1/2 Cup Almond Milk
1/4 Cup Greek Yogurt
1 Tbsp Flax Seeds
Handful of Fresh/Frozen Berries
Drizzle of Honey
*Use your favorite non-dairy milk. We prefer unsweetened almond milk.
*Use your favorite yogurt brand. We like Two Good yogurt as a healthier option.
*Alternate yogurt flavors to suit your taste. We like to use berry flavored yogurts to compliment our mixed berry topping.
As we mentioned earlier, overnight oats are very versatile. Re-create a classic favorite by using vanilla yogurt, omitting the berries and honey, and instead adding cinnamon, brown sugar, and a drizzle of maple syrup.
For the pumpkin spice lovers in the family, use vanilla yogurt, omit the berries, and add pumpkin puree, chia seeds, cinnamon, and pumpkin pie spice.
The variations of overnight oats are endless, so experiment and have fun with it!
“Did you know that boxed almond milk only contains 2% of real almonds?
The rest is thickeners, artificial flavorings, and preservatives. It’s more expensive, less convenient, not to mention the environmental impact of single-use boxes.
Go homemade and drink the real thing!”
